Create an SMS campaign

SMS campaigns in marketing involve the strategic use of text messages to reach and engage a target audience. This direct and immediate communication channel allows businesses to convey time-sensitive information, promotions, and personalized messages directly to consumers' mobile devices. SMS campaigns are effective in fostering customer engagement, driving sales, and promoting brand loyalty. Marketers often leverage concise and compelling messaging, accompanied by clear calls to action, to encourage recipients to take specific actions, such as making a purchase, participating in promotions, or accessing exclusive content.

Step 1.

To launch your SMS marketing campaign, go to the left-side menu, select Campaigns, and click the New Campaign button.

After being redirected to the campaigns' menu, select SMS to start creating your campaign.

Step 2.

Prepare your SMS campaign.

  • First, write the message you want your recipients to read in the white blank space.
  • Then, choose an internal name for this campaign, which will only be visible to you.
  • If you have a Google Analytics account for your website, you can track incoming traffic from campaigns sent.

Email link tracking tags 

A Google Analytics campaign tracking link consists of a URL for the web page you're linking to, followed by a question mark and UTM parameters to identify things like source, medium, and campaign name.

We use the utm_parameters like this:

  • utm_medium = sms
  • utm_campaign = What you have typed above
  • utm_source = inbox
  • utm_term = the campaign ID plus a unique contact identifier

Can you track your campaigns using different values for the utm_ parameters? 

Of course, you just have to generate the tagged URLs manually and add them to your campaign message.

⇒ Once you have completed the steps above, click on Next Step to proceed.

Step 3.

Choose the recipients from Lists and Folders. Don't forget to click on Next Step after you have finished.

Step 4.

Review your SMS campaign by checking your message, your recipients, and your credits. Make sure to have enough so you can send your message.

Then, click on Schedule Delivery.

Choose to Send it now or Schedule it for the following time if you want to send your campaign later.

Click SEND!

Finally, select Just send it and your campaign is live!
