How to add or edit an email campaing within an automation

Add an email campaign

If you want to add an email campaign to an automation, navigate to Automation > Email/SMS/Postcard Automations, select Edit, and then click the Go to Then action button. In the Autoresponse Message tab, select Use an Existing Message to choose the email campaign you wish to include in the automation.

Live Edit an email campaign

To make changes to a campaign that is running within an automation, we can use the Live Edit feature.

  1. In the menu: Automation > Email/SMS/Postcard Automations menu, you can access Live Edit in order to edit the campaign for the automation you want.

In the tab that opens when you click the Live Edit button, you can modify the From Email, Email Subject, and UTM settings for the campaign. To change the campaign content, click the Drag n Drop Editor button. Don't forget to click Save when you finish editing.

Notes:

  • When you perform a Live Edit on a campaign, the URL displays the ID of the campaign being edited. This helps you ensure you're working on the correct campaign.

  • If you're unsure which campaign is being sent by the automation, you can find the campaign ID by checking the automation's statistics URL. The URL will show the ID of the most recently sent campaign within the automation (the URL also includes the automation ID).

  • Additionally, when you receive a campaign, the campaign's Show Original option includes its ID, so you can verify which campaign you received from the automation.

2.When you make a Live Edit to a campaign, the campaign's date/time is updated. This means that in the automation statistics under Messages, the campaign will appear at the top due to the more recent date. Therefore, simply looking at the date to determine which campaign is being sent by the automation is not always reliable, as someone may have done a live edit on an older campaign, giving it a more recent date.

3.Always check the URL for the campaign ID you are editing to confirm it’s the correct one.
